Peter Zarov | President / Attorney
Peter Zarov is the President, legal counsel, and co-owner of Homestead Title Company. Mr. Zarov is an attorney with over 18 years experience in residential and commercial real estate. As owner of Homestead Title Company, Mr. Zarov provides guidance and expertise on residential and commercial title and closing issues, specializing in complex and distressed property transactions. Mr. Zarov often teaches seminars to Realtors, lenders, and attorneys on topics including short sales, foreclosure, and title issues. His legal experience includes complex commercial litigation, foreclosure, eminent domain and land use law, partnership and LLC formation, and residential and commercial real estate. His current law practice focuses on issues relating to title insurance, condominiums, and real estate agency and brokerage services. Mr. Zarov is married and has three wonderful boys.
Torey Schauff | Marketing Director
Torey Schauff is Marketing Director and focuses on business development, client relations, public relations, and marketing. Torey joined Homestead Title in March 2015 with almost 10 years of title, sales, and marketing experience. He also has over 15 years of banking experience in mortgage lending, consumer lending, and credit analysis. Torey is married and has two sons. He has resided in the Madison and Belleville area for nearly 30 years. He is an avid fan of sports, notably the Badgers, Brewers, Packers and his sons' sports.
Mary Sweeney | Closing Manager
Mary Sweeney is the Closing Manager for all locations. Mary Sweeney has been in the Madison area for over 30 years, first attending the University of Wisconsin and then focusing on the title insurance industry. She has been a constant presence in title insurance in Dane County for many years, beginning with the searching of public records all the way to closing all types of transactions. Mary has considerable knowledge and expertise in residential and commercial real estate closings. As many people already know, Mary has coordinated the efforts of lenders, realtors, attorneys, builders, buyers and sellers through thousands of successful closings. Mary handles all types of transactions and is considered a professional in commercial projects. She also loves working with residential closings and especially working with first time home buyers. Mary has been married for 35 years to Patrick and has two wonderful children, Kaylan and Logan. Kaylan and her husband Daniel devote their lives to the military, both serving two tours in Iraq. Her son Logan graduated from Verona High School and is following in his sisters footsteps and joined the Army. She enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and is a charter member of the Virgin Gourmet Club where their only rule is 'it must be a recipe that's never been made before'!! She indulges in reading fiction and is a charter member of a book club.
Whitney Hobson | Assistant Closing Department Manager
Whitney Hobson is an experienced closer in our closing department . She joined Homestead Title in 2012 and had spent most of her career in the title industry. Whitney's first job, at the age of 15, was with a Breckenridge, Colorado title insurance company. Since that young age, she's been working her way up and has found a home as a closing officer at Homestead Title. As with most of our staff, she has a broad range of experience, from preparing title commitments, searching title records, and closing refinances and sales. Her extensive experience in the real estate industry has taught her that the best part of a closing is being the person who tells the client "congratulation on your new home!"
Whitney lives in Evansville, Wisconsin with her husband Jon and their daughter. During their down time, they enjoy going to football and baseball games and spending as much time with family as they can.
Lena Kelley | Closing Officer
Lena Kelley is a closing officer and began working in the title industry over 20 years ago. As many title 'lifers' do, she began her career scheduling closings and typing title commitments. She was focused on gaining more knowledge and has worked in every department of the title industry finally becoming one of the most experienced and well-known real estate closers in Dane County.
She is known for her kindness, efficiency and knowledge and concentrates on easing the jitters of the first-time home buyer. Lena has earned the reputation of spoiling the realtors, lenders and clients that she has worked with over the years.
She lives in the DeForest area with her husband, Eric. They have three children. Lena's family spends most Summers at a ball park
Laura Bush | Closing Officer
Laura Bush is a closing officer with extensive experience in real estate. Laura started in the real estate industry in 1998 working in new home construction with a large builder as a contract review specialist, transaction manager, and office manager. She has extensive background in the administration and customer service areas of real estate. Laura joined Homestead Title in 2016 after ten years in sales, support, and customer service with two Madison Realty companies. Laura has been an active member in the real estate community since 1999 and has been on the RASCW Housing Foundation Ghoulish Gallop committee since 2007 that coordinates their 5k/10k fundraiser every October.
Laura is originally from Illinois, after a brief stop in the San Francisco area where she finished high school, she moved back to the Midwest to attend the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Before starting her own family she was a Big Sister in the Big Brother/Sister program of Dane County. In her spare time she enjoys attending UW sporting events, and coaching her kids in basketball. She has 3 gorgeous children that keep her very busy. They live in Verona.
Jenny Padgett | Title, Search & Construction Specialist
Jenny Padgett is a Title, Search & Construction Specialist with Homestead Title. She has also served as a closing officer. Jenny has over a decade of experience in the mortgage lending arena, having a successful career in mortgage loan originations prior to her move into the title industry. Jenny's passion for service and genuine interest in each of her clients shines through as she strives to personalize each interaction for her buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals.
Jenny lives in the McFarland area with her husband Jesse, their two children Ella and Easton, and dog named Sport. Both kids are very active in sports, which keeps Jenny's family constantly on the move.
Kristie Roth | Closing Coordinator
Kristie Roth is a closing coordinator and has joined Homestead Title with 13 years experience in the title insurance industry. She began her career in Madison answering phones, conducting real estate searches and typing letter reports. She quickly moved into the underwriting department working on title commitments and progressed to issuing final title insurance policies. She loves working with people and her bubbly personality helps her in her position as a closing coordinator. She works with clients, realtors, lenders and closers in processing the real estate transaction. Her attention to detail, positive outlook and easy banter have proved her to be a favorite contact to those in the real estate industry in Madison. Kristie grew up in Madison, went to school in Florida and moved back to Madison where she met her husband and is now raising three very active children. She has a very busy schedule with all of her children in sports and is constantly at the ball field. She loves golf and bike riding with her family. She rocks!
Chris Anderson | Closing Coordinator
Chris Anderson is a Closing Coordinator with a diverse background in business, including large corporations, non-profits, small business, government, and higher education. Having a methodical and thoughtful attitude towards business suits Chris quite well for his role. He is a successful communicator across several mediums and is intentional in his words and actions.
Away from work, he is an outdoor enthusiast both solo and with his family, a voracious reader of mostly non-fiction, a multi-instrument musician, and greatly enjoys TED Talks. He is recently married, which is awesome!
Lynne Deneen Hall | Title Manager/Lead Examiner
Lynne is Homestead Title's head title examiner. She was the first employee of Homestead Title when Attorney Marsha Dymzarov started the company in 1995. Lynne's prior experience was as a legal secretary/assistant for many years in law firms preceding the current law firm of Herrick & Kasdorf, LLP located on the Capitol Square. Her educational history includes a Bachelor's Degree from UW-Madison in Sociology with an emphasis in Correctional Administration. She has advanced from all-around gopher/receptionist/clerk/closing assistant with the title company to her current position of "Head Title Examiner." Lynne takes pride in her dedication to the company, and working with customers and clients in a professional and knowledgeable manner. She greatly enjoys working with people and bringing a calming influence on people in the nerve-wracking and stressful experiences that can go along with the sale and purchase of homes. Lynne's outside interests include sports -- Packers, anything Badgers, Brewer baseball, and all sorts of high school sports (as a spectator of course) -- and music, live or otherwise. Lynne resides east of Cottage Grove on a 67-acre farm that has been in her family's name since the late 1870's.
Kayla Johnson | Office Manager, Construction Department Manager, Title Examiner
Kayla is the Office Manager, Construction Department Manager and Title Examiner. She joined Homestead's team in 2012. She holds her title insurance license and is a graduate of Wisconsin Land Title Association's Title Examiner Courses. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with a BA in Political Science and History. She previously worked on political campaigns and for a student advocacy group in Wisconsin. Then she worked in a Congressional office and at a public affairs firm in Washington DC.
Jaime Pina | Title Searcher and Final Policy Department Manager
Jaime Piña oversees Homestead Title's final policy department. He also assists with title searches and commitments. Jaime graduated from DePaul University in Chicago, having studied mathematics. He moved to Madison in pursuit of nicer vistas (including lakes and bicycling trails). He has quite an array of skills, having worked in bakeries, museums, medical libraries, classrooms, and, currently at Homestead Title. He is an avid reader in his spare time.
Rachel Bartnik | Final Policy Specialist
Rachel is a Final Policy Specialist. Originally from the Detroit area, she graduated from the University of Michigan having completed studies in education, and has since worked in schools, restaurants, automotive offices, and grocery stores. Wanting to be closer to family, Rachel moved to Wisconsin and joined Homestead in the spring of 2017! She is delighted to find in Madison a refreshingly vibrant and active city, and loves to take her dog on walks around town whenever she's not cooking or reading.
Kate Champion | Customer Service Ambassador
Kate is Customer Service Ambassador. She joined Homestead in September 2016, and has prior experience as an Administrative Assistant. Kate is originally from the Chicagoland area where she has a background in Business Management. She is continuing her education in business and marketing. During her free time she enjoys cooking, leading book club, studying, and gaming-both video & board. She lives in Waunakee with her husband, two boys, both under two, her cat and small dog!
